Liz’s Class Notes

We enjoyed an excellent first week. We visited Guild Hall to explore the “Mary Heilmann: Water Ways” exhibit and gained a deeper understanding of abstract art. During our time there, we participated in a guided tour of the exhibit and engaged in hands-on painting workshops led by the museum educator. We also visited the South Fork Natural History Museum and Nature Center, where we learned about amphibians and reptiles from their knowledgeable naturalists in residence.

Additionally, we explored The Watermill Center and viewed Upside Down Zebra, a unique and thought-provoking collection of children’s art.

Back at school, we began our math block this week, along with our rotation through Art, Science, and Kitchen-Garden. Next week, we look forward to beginning our apprenticeships — always an exciting and meaningful time for our senior learners as they deepen their skills and interests in real-world settings.
