"The Magic Tree" Installation at The Leiber Collection
Recently, I, along with a group of other East End artists, was asked by the Leiber Collection to create a sculpture for their sculpture garden, so together I, along with all the Hayground students decided to create a giant necklace, the beads representing each of us that together come to form the larger community of Hayground, inspired, creative and beautiful.
For 2 weeks, students & teachers created beads out of polymer clay and strung the beads onto a wire to form a 75' necklace. The necklace is now hanging in a tree at The Leiber Collection Sculpture Garden, titled 'The Magic Tree, by the kids. The Sculpture Garden is also displaying sculptures and installations by Hayground teacher, Sabra Moon Elliot, Mary Heilmann, Toni Ross, Almond Zigmund, Jeremy Dennis, Philippe Cheng, Bastienne Schmidt, Laurie Lambrecht, Yung Jake, Saskia Friedrich, Monica Banks, Scott Bluedorn and many others.
If you have not been to the Leiber Collection in East Hampton, it is a gem of a small museum, holding over 100 pieces of amazing, world famous handbags, created by Judith Leiber, along with the sculpture garden.
