Lucy’s Class Notes
What an amazing first few weeks of school we’ve had! Our class has spent lots of time building community, working together, and dreaming big. We kicked things off with fun activities to get to know one another and strengthen our teamwork. Then, we jumped right into our yearlong project: creating our very own world! We asked questions like What kinds of worlds are out there? and What does a world really need? To spark our imaginations, each student designed a dream house—and the results were incredible! We saw cheeseburger houses, mushroom cottages, treehouses, go-kart homes, birdcages, and so much more. The creativity and joy in our classroom have set the stage for an exciting year ahead.
After plenty of brainstorming and lively discussions, our class decided on the kind of world (or maybe worlds…stay tuned!) we want to build together. We’ll begin shaping this project by designing our fall world, and we can’t wait to share updates as it comes to life. Alongside this, we’ve started our class read-aloud, Aru Shah and the End of Time, which ties beautifully into our focus on mythology and museums. These themes could potentially inspire our own museum exhibition later this year! Even more exciting, we’ll soon be heading out to visit local museums to see firsthand how curation works and gather ideas for our project. The energy and creativity in our classroom are buzzing—we can’t wait to see where this journey takes us!
