LIZ'S CLASS NOTES

We are extremely busy working on our senior learner projects. This week we workshopped different approaches to presentations, began creating the visuals for our presentations, and met with our mentors. On Monday, we will present our work to one another and get critical feedback in preparation for Wednesday's presentations.

We'll also watch a couple of excellent Ted Talks by kids. The panelists for Wednesday's presentations are looking forward to the presentations and learning about their work. Here are our panelists for this year's Senior Learner Projects.

We began our new read-aloud Behind Rebel Lines, a true story about Emma Edmonds, a young woman disguised like a man to join the Union Army who became a Civil War spy. We're just beginning the story, but it promises to be a nail-biter.

Soul Food Night is scheduled for Thursday, March 23, the day after our presentations. This year our class will offer a short presentation on the history of the Black Lives Matter movement.
