Liz's Class Notes

Thank you to the Hayground community for supporting the Senior Learners’ food collection for Wuneechanunk Preschool’s food pantry. We were able to deliver the food in person and meet with the preschool’s director, Natanhee Dennis, and we are looking forward to spending time reading with the preschool’s students in the near future. We will begin our next collection cycle at the end of January.

In addition to learning and performing Twelfth Night, baking cookies for our fundraiser, the Senior Learners are putting the finishing touches on their digital portfolios, which document their apprenticeship learning. These portfolios will be presented at gatherings in January.

We also finished our recent read-aloud, Tyge by S.F. Said, and have begun a new one, The Thing About Jellyfish by Ali Benjamin. Our shared reading experiences allow us to enter a story as a community—sharing our thoughts about characters and events, and taking time to relax and enjoy a story together.
