From the Builder’s Notebook #5

We are gaining momentum on Spring, and on the jobsite. The last 2 weeks have been quite productive, and we are making up time on the schedule that was lost due to weather in February and March. A lot of progress can be visible above the fence now. The structural steel for the Arts Level and for the Library ceiling has been completed, and the timbers and cros- laminated floor panels have been delivered and installed. The timber work that had been scheduled for several weeks has been completed early due to the efficiency of the carpenter crew and the upcoming week will be focused on the details of securing the panels per the engineered drawings.

The exterior Structurally Insulated Panels (SIPS) are scheduled to leave the manufacturer’s yard on May 18th and we should be installing them as they arrive. We anticipate that by mid-June the building will be enclosed and we will look forward to receiving the windows and completing the interior framing.

While the interior walls are being completed, we will be installing the roof membrane and making the building weatherproof. When this work is completed, we can move forward with the rough-ins of the electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and fire sprinkler systems.

Work on the site is continuing with installation of the drainage drywells and septic system. When they are completed along with the exterior panels, we will start the work for the amphitheater, retaining wall, and finalizing the site contours.

We look forward to maintaining the gaining momentum.
