Notebook #6
From the Builder’s Notebook #6
As we approach the end of the summer, we are close to completion of the mechanical systems. The HVAC duct work and equipment is installed and the loose ends are being finalized. The electrical work is close to completion, and they will start on the IT, fire alarm, and camera wiring next. The plumbing roughins are complete and they will start on the radiant floor piping as soon as the electrical work has been inspected. We need to use roller scaffold to install the plywood finish wall backer and piping on the floor will interfere with that work. The skylight glazing should be installed in the next couple of weeks and the exterior doors for the Entry in mid-September. The Science Room exterior doors are not expected until October. Outside, the siding is about 50% complete. The roofing is complete on the main building and the Library roof system will be installed soon. The Amphitheater has been rough graded and other rough grading has been accomplished on the rest of the site.
Moving forward, we anticipate the finish concrete floors to be installed in mid- to late-September and then the finishes can be started – drywall, paneling, built-ins and painting.
