Julie's Class Notes
Our class is moving steadily toward our Hayground Show performance date of April 30. Mark your calendars! Our opening theme song has been written and we are creating and learning choreography to go along with it. Most of the acts for the show are complete, Vaudeville information is being written, and we’re looking forward to tweaking our scenes through feedback from rehearsals once we get back from February break. Then, we will also begin building sets and props for our acts.
As well as working to create a fantastic show, students are finishing up writing their persuasive or opinion essays. We have focused on formulating an opening statement and supporting that statement with reasons and explanations for those reasons in the form of proper sentences and para- graphs. The kids have chosen great topics to write about, ranging from, “Why We Should Take a Class Trip to The Clubhouse”, to, “Why We Should Keep Looking for New Bird Species”. The kids have made convincing arguments, and we might very well take a trip to the Clubhouse at the end of the year.
