Tohanash and Javis’s Class Notes

This month we greeted Autumn with excitement and curiosity, the whirlwind of activities and celebrations have kept us on our toes but full with excitement. As the days get colder, we have bundled up more while still enjoying outside time and adventuring throughout campus. In the garden with Mark Antonio and Aisa we planted seeds in preparation for this spring. In science with Ryan we have shifted to the sea and set our sails on learning about sea animals and what they do. We have also continued on our mask exploring and making with Perry. In the mornings we have explored new mediums in painting working with watercolors and tempera paint on both small and large scale canvases. We have continued to work on our collaborative play and emotional regulation both in our playcenters and outside in the mudpit. During the afternoon in class we read our first two chapter books, from the Frog and Toad series. This week we had a gathering with Dr. Vic who talked about how we keep our teeth clean and had great reminders for everyone to floss! The previous week we were visited by the Bridgehampton fire department who showcased their equipment and truck to the whole school while explaining and reminding everyone the safety precautions that should be followed daily.

In class we will continue to expand our friendships and explore campus together while challenging ourselves to enjoy both new and old activities that promote the idea of storytelling. We hope to see you in class soon to enjoy the art and stories your children are exploring and creating Thank you for a wonderful Halloween and start to this year.
