Amy's Class Notes

“The single most important component of a camera is the twelve inches behind it!'“ (Ansel Adams")

Amy’s class naturalists head to Long Beach for a day of winter observation and play! Each child had the opportunity to get behind the camera lens and take a couple of shots. It was frigid to say the least, but we have the beginning of a great story! How can we describe how cold it was? It was a teeth chattering, wind whipping, wave crashing, very cold day. The experience of going to the beach in 35-degree weather adds to the story telling memory box in our minds, full of rich firsthand experiences that we can revisit when writing a story about a cold day.

We are budding authors! We are currently in the rough draft process with our books, but many students have moved on to their hard cover books. Ask you child what they are writing about. You are sure to be impressed!

Have a beautiful and relaxing break!
