LUCY'S CLASS NOTES

We are getting into the groove, literally and figuratively, in the month of October! We have spent

some time over the past few weeks learning what our cultures are, the holidays our origins celebrate,

and we are currently exploring our cultural food. We are looking forward to creating a Cultural Recipe

Cookbook! We also learned the pros and cons of Tiktok dances and creating our own. This entailed

learning the engineering behind a routine of consecutive movements. Additionally, we have been

learning about world renown dancers, such as Martha Graham, and have explored their personal

narratives through movement! All of these discoveries have helped us enhance our own personal

narratives, which we are currently finalizing and getting ready to publish soon. Stay tuned!

Over the next few weeks, we will be wrapping up the personal narrative study and starting

storytelling. We will be exploring a fairytale and seeing how authors bring their imagination to life, while

still including their true culture! Throughout the study we will be analyzing famous ballets to see how a

story can be told through a performance. We will also begin to explore technology behind

performances, such as lighting and filming.

As a reminder, Parent Teacher Conferences are October 21st, Apple Picking is on October 28th,

and our Halloween Parade is on October 31st!
