Julie and Travis's Class Notes

We had a fantastic week of school! We are settling into our routines, and started math, specials, gym and music.

In addition to working toward telling the story of our chosen objects, we have read picture books and poems from Pablo Neruda’s collection, “Odes to Common Things” that expressly celebrate objects.

We started a read aloud, our writing workshop, and independent reading where students choose a “just right” book and read for a sustained period of time. We brainstormed our class norms, and dedicated time to thinking about, and practicing what we can do to make those ideas a reality.

Next Friday we are having our annual apple picking trip to Halsey Farm. We are having fun and hope to see you at Curriculum Night in a few weeks.
