Julie and RJ's Class Notes

As we welcome Spring and work furiously to meet our invention deadline of April 5, we have not forgotten about our Playground Project. In fact, our work is amping up. We were visited by David Barrage, the architect who works with Hayground, to learn about what he does. He shared his computer rendered images of our campus, and we began to add things from the model we made in class to his computerized vision of the grounds. We began with the possible placement of a few trees. We have more work planned with David in the near future.

Inventions are in full swing, and we are in the midst of seeing the first prototypes come to life. This is always an interesting time because students wrestle with the difficult feelings of wanting to be successful with their invention, and negotiating how challenging it might be to figure out how to engineer their model. This is where the best learning and problem solving takes place. Please talk to your children about their ideas. The more they talk about it, the more they think about it and the more solutions they will find.
