AMY's CLASS NOTES

This just in from Tomatosphere:

Congratulations! You have completed the germination experiment of the Tomatosphere program. Please feel free to continue growing your tomatoes and measuring other variables. In past years, students have eaten their tomatoes, made salsa with them, or even donated their harvest to those in need in the local community. We ask that you please compost or recycle materials where possible.

For your information, the seeds you received were all Heinz H1161 seeds.

They were grouped as follows:

  1. Control group

  2. Sent to space

Happy Cinco de Mayo! We had a dia muy excelente exploring various aspects of Mexican culture. If you cannot find your aluminum foil this weekend, check your child's room. We learned about a form of Mexican tin folk art called

"Hojolata." Each child has a masterpiece in progress. Maria came in, read us a fun book and brought a candy filled piñata to add to the learning and festivities!

lam thankful for you as class parents. I can feel the love and confidence that your care brings, as it overflows into our classroom.
