Julie's Class Notes

We’ve had a bit of lion and a bit of lamb to start the month of March. Hoping for more lamb soon. Regardless of the weather outside, inside the kids have been working up a storm. Hayground Market had a fantastic third sale with a Valentine’s Day theme. The kids hosted interactive experiences which were a big hit.

In collaboration with Lucy’s class, we have been studying the history and importance of gospel music in the lives of African Americans, its roll in propelling movements for freedom forward, and its influence on the music we listen to today. In small groups, the students developed the skit you will see at Soul Food Night on Wednesday March 7.

Additionally, kids have been revising the first drafts of their Budding Authors stories, and learned how to hold peer conferences and give constructive feedback to one another.
