Tohanash and Javis’s Class Notes

This February, our classroom has been buzzing with creativity and kindness. We have been spending the weeks before break, celebrating Valentine's Day with heart art, paintings, and thoughtful gift exchanges for both our friends in class, and our new book buddies, that filled our room with smiles.

Our days have been very hands-on, whether we are in the building center experimenting with different block types such as Magnitiles, to create new structures. When we aren’t building we are exploring the kitchen recipes and expanding our imaginations. We have also started Spanish class this month with Maria. Kids were able to practice counting to ten and learned a fun song about colors and one about La Vaca Lola. Gracias Maria!

We have continued staying busy on our friendship books, getting another student's book completed. This activity helps the children in practicing story telling and thinking deeper about the play they have with friends, it also includes drawing pictures to explain the stories which continues to inspire new artists.

During our specials we have continued to enjoy the snow outside and the warmth from the greenhouse, gym, and kitchen. We’ve enjoyed experimenting with melting ice, mixing colors, and observing changes in the weather. Music often brings a joyful energy to our weeks, and we are excited to continue learning more percussion instruments. February has truly been a month of joyful learning and growing independence.
