Erin and Kevin's Class Notes April 13, 2020

Erin and Kevin were inspired by the rocks that Leo and Kiera painted last week, and coincidentally, Kevin had thought of that project, too. Kevin actually thought maybe the kids could make Pet Rocks! In their classroom, the kids collect rocks daily — sharing them, using them to put into our Above and Beyond jar, wondering if they are crystals or even dinosaur fossils! So the challenge this week is a rock challenge. Anything goes, rock-wise. Do you want a Pet Rock? Go for it! Show us your pet rock and tell us its name. Do you want to make an outdoor sculpture out of stones? Your children are creative, so I’m sure they will come up with ways to work with rocks and stones that we haven’t thought of.

Also, it is still April, thus National Poetry month. If you feel inspired to read and write some poems with your kids, we would love to read and share them. A poem can be as simple as your child describing something — like their pet, a flower, or a feeling they have. They can dictate their poem to you. Again, no pressure, I just know that your kids have poetic little souls.

Let us know if you have any questions or concerns. We still miss you, and hope everyone is healthy and happy.
