Julie’s Class Notes

We have been very busy this past month. Thank you to Casey Meyer, and The Church for an inspiring field trip, where we were able to see the art created by their Artists in Residence over the past three years.

In class, we began designing an interactive outdoor instrument made from PVC pipe (donated by Kurt Meyer) that will be an eventual addition to our playground.

To understand the historical time period for our study of Vaudeville, (roughly 1840-1930), students created categories such as travel, government and law, daily life, work, school and education, and more to think about differences between then and now. They have since chosen a category to research and learn more about. Once they have gathered and synthesized information, they will teach the rest of the class about what they studied. They will need support at home to find resources. I will be sending home more information about the project this week.

Thank you to our class parents for organizing our Halloween party, and to all who contributed goodies for our morning feast. We were thrilled to have healthy and delicious snacks to eat as we watched the original Witches movie.
