R.A. Spratt  Comes to the Hayground School

BRIDGEHAMPTON, NY. Hayground School in Bridgehampton will host acclaimed children’s book author R.A. Spratt of Nanny Piggins and Friday Barnes: Girl Detective fame on Wednesday, March 2nd at 10:00 a.m. for a special book event.

The event will feature RA Spratt reading excerpts from her hilarious and adored Nanny Piggins series as she introduces Friday Barnes: Girl Detective to an audience of local school children, including invited students from the Peconic Community and Bridgehampton Schools. The event will culminate with a book signing.

RA Spratt agreed to come to Hayground after receiving a fan email from two Hayground students with an invitation to visit during her North American launch for the Friday Barnes series.  Ten year-old Sam Grabb, notes, “When we wrote to RA Spratt we had no idea if she would respond, much less come to our school!  Her books are hilarious, insightful and full of chocolate-y goodness.”

The Hayground School will partner with Southampton Books, whose owners, Greg Harris and Daniel Hirsch, will provide books for the popular children’s series author about whom they remark:

"R.A. Spratt's Nanny Piggins brings together the wit and hilarity of Lemony Snicket, P.L. Travers, and Roald Dahl.  Her internationally best-selling series, "Friday Barnes: Girl Detective" has finally been issued in the US.  Friday is a junior Sherlock Holmes with the drive of Harriet the Spy and the ingenuity and brilliance of Cam Jansen.  A wonderful mystery for middle grade readers that also instills lessons on navigating the hazards of Middle School."
